Welcome to Skyview Decker & Old Dominion Terriers!
We are a small, family-run kennel founded in 2025 by Brad and Britt Coffman and our four wonderful children. Tucked away on our picturesque 140-acre farm in the valleys of central Pennsylvania, we are blessed to live a life surrounded by open fields, fresh air, and the animals we love.
Raising puppies is truly a labor of love for us. Each litter is an extension of our family, and it brings us so much joy to share our passion for Decker and Old Dominion Terriers with the many amazing families who welcome our puppies into their homes.
Our Roots in Farming and Animals
Both Brad and I grew up on dairy farms, where caring for animals was a way of life. From milking cows and birthing calves to nursing sick animals back to health, we gained an early respect for the responsibility and rewards of animal care. That upbringing shaped who we are today and laid the foundation for our love of breeding dogs.
Our children are now growing up with that same farm background, surrounded by animals big and small. They’ve learned the same values of hard work, respect, and compassion that come from life on the farm.
Dogs have always been part of our family. Over the years, we’ve had a Border Collie (wonderful, but too much coat for farm life!) and a husky–golden retriever–bloodhound mix with the most stunning blue eyes. When he passed unexpectedly, our home felt incomplete. We began searching for the perfect family farm dog—medium-sized, short-coated, smart, and durable enough to handle the energy of small children. That search led us to Rat Terriers… and then, more importantly, to the Old Dominion Terrier. We knew instantly they were exactly what we wanted.
How Skyview Began
When we purchased our first breeding pair, our intention was simple: raise just one litter so our kids could experience the joy of watching puppies grow. But something unexpected happened—I fell in love with the process. From those first tiny breaths to watching personalities emerge and finally placing pups in their forever homes, I knew this was more than just a one-time project.
With the guidance of Deanna from BriarBey Decker and Old Dominion Terriers, who has been an incredible mentor, I began building Skyview. What started as a single litter quickly blossomed into a family passion and a calling.
A True Family Effort
While breeding is my vision, it is very much a family endeavor. Brad and our son have worked hard to make improvements around our home to ensure our dogs have a safe, comfortable environment. Our three daughters pitch in daily—feeding, playing, and helping with puppy care. During times when I’ve needed extra help, they’ve all stepped up without hesitation. I’m deeply grateful for the love and teamwork my family pours into this dream.
Our Commitment
At Skyview, quality always comes before quantity. We keep our program small so that each dog gets the attention, love, and care they deserve. Every breeding decision is made with health, temperament, and lineage in mind.
All of our breeding dogs are DNA tested to ensure they are free from hereditary conditions. Our females are undergoing full OFA certifications—including hips, elbows, eyes, heart, and thyroid—before any breeding occurs. Our males will receive the same testing when they are of age. Patellas and dentition are also checked during routine vet exams.
This level of care ensures that the puppies we raise are not only beautiful but also healthy, happy, and ready to bring joy to their new families.
