Old Dominion Terrier Puppies
All of our puppies are born and raised in our home with loving care. We take the time with each puppy to expose them to early neurological stimulation (ENS) starting at just a few days old. This has been found to enhance the puppyâs trainability and its ability to bounce back from negative stressors. Our puppies live among the usual hustle and bustle of a busy family home. Â They are given undivided love and attention by our whole family! When age and weather appropriate, we introduce them to an outside area where they get to explore and become accustomed to the noises and smells of the outside world.
Skyview Decker & Old Dominion Terriers reserves the right to retain any puppy in a litter for breeding purposes therefore, not every puppy in each litter will be available.
Old Dominion Terrier Puppies: A Rare and Devoted Family Companion
If youâre searching for a rare, loyal, and intelligent dog with deep American roots, Old Dominion Terrier puppies are a wonderful choice. This developing breed carries a unique history, blending the intelligence and versatility of Rat Terriers with the charm and devotion that make them stand out as exceptional family companions. At Skyview Decker & Old Dominion Terriers, we are proud to raise healthy, well-socialized puppies that embody the best of this remarkable breed.
What Makes Old Dominion Terrier Puppies Special?
Old Dominion Terriers are not just another terrier lineâthey are a carefully developed breed-in-progress that honors the classic Rat Terrier heritage while refining it for todayâs families. As puppies, they are curious, affectionate, and eager to please. They thrive on human interaction and quickly become devoted members of their household.

When you welcome one of our Old Dominion Terrier puppies into your home, you can expect a companion that is:
-
Gentle and Loving â Known for their affectionate nature, Old Dominion Terriers love to be near their people and often form strong bonds with children and family members.
-
Smart and Adaptable â These puppies are quick learners, responding well to positive training methods. They enjoy new experiences and adjust easily to a variety of living situations.
-
Playful but Calm â While they love to run, play, and explore, Old Dominion Terriers are often more even-tempered than some terrier breeds, making them a great fit for families who want balance.
-
Family-Oriented â More than anything, these puppies crave connection. They arenât just petsâthey are true companions who thrive when included in daily family life.
Growing with Old Dominion Terrier Puppies
Old Dominion Terrier puppies grow into medium-sized, well-proportioned dogs. They tend to be slightly smaller and more refined than Decker Terriers, making them a great option for families who want a manageable size without losing the durability and athleticism terriers are known for.
As they grow, youâll notice their personalities shine. They are alert and intelligent, making them wonderful watchdogs, yet they remain friendly and approachable with people they know. With early training and socialization, these puppies blossom into confident adults who can transition easily between playtime, work, and relaxation.
A Puppy for Families Who Want Balance
One of the most appealing qualities of Old Dominion Terrier puppies is their balance of energy and calm. They enjoy outdoor activitiesârunning, playing fetch (if you can convince them to bring it back, otherwise they love to chase the ball, stick, or whatever LOL!), or going for walksâbut they are equally content curling up on the couch with their favorite person. This makes them well-suited to families who want an active companion without the overwhelming intensity that can sometimes come with terrier breeds.
Because of their even temperament, Old Dominion Terriers do especially well in family homes where they are included in daily activities. They love children, get along well with other pets when properly introduced, and thrive on consistency and companionship.
Choosing the Right Old Dominion Terrier Puppy
When it comes to selecting your puppy, choosing a breeder who prioritizes health, temperament, and socialization is key. At Skyview Decker & Old Dominion Terriers, we raise our puppies with care from day one, ensuring they are healthy, confident, and ready to succeed in their new homes. Each puppy receives proper veterinary care, exposure to family life, and early training experiences that lay the foundation for a well-mannered adult.
By choosing one of our Old Dominion Terrier puppies, you are not only bringing home a rare and beautiful dogâyou are welcoming a lifelong companion that has been bred with purpose, love, and dedication.
